CAROTAR, 2020 read with CBIC Circular No. 38/2020-Cus, dated 21^st August, 2020 supplement the existing operational certification procedures prescribed under different trade agreements (FTA/ PTA/ CECA/ CEPA).  An importer is now required to do due diligence before importing the goods to ensure that they meet the prescribed originating criteria. A list of conditions which the importer is required to possess has also been provided in the rules along with general guidance. Also, an importer would now have to enter certain origin related information in the Bill of Entry, as available in the Certificate of Origin.

To understand the rules & guidelines from the experts, the Madras Chamber has scheduled a Session on Saturday, 17^th  October 2020 from 10.30 am to12.30 pm. 

The meeting will be held through webex platform.

A nominal fee of Rs.590 /- including GST per person is being charged to cover the administrative expenses. 

As these rules have come into force already with effect from September 21, 2020, it is imperative that the importers and other users should get familiar with the same. The interactive session would be useful to the delegates and provide an opportunity to clarify their doubts from the experts.
